New Graduate Rn – Critical Care

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

New Graduate RN Residency Program

New graduate nurses at Mercy Hospital South are supported through our comprehensive RN Residency Program, designed to help you transition from student to practicing nurse with confidence.

This 8–16 week hands-on clinical training experience provides structured support while you develop practical skills and build clinical confidence.

Our residency program includes:

• Hands-on clinical training on your unit with experienced nurse mentors
• One-on-one mentoring and preceptor support
• Classroom learning and structured training sessions focused on key nursing skills and patient care scenarios
• Leadership guidance and coaching from nurse educators and unit leaders
• A supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged and growth is prioritized

This program helps new nurses build clinical confidence, critical thinking skills, and strong patient care foundations while becoming part of a supportive team.
