Position Summary: The SPD/MDC Shift Coordinator is responsible for the direct supervision of all instrumentation processing and distribution. Overseeing performance of Technicians I, Technicians II Senior Clerk III. Ensures the daily standard work is followed, proper operation of different types of sterilization and personnel productivity, adherence to policies and procedures in the department. Overseeing the J.I.T staff members and working closely with AUM's on daily issues. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job 1. Supervises staff, daily job tasks and work priorities. 2. Trains and schedules staff employees. Oversees performance management of staff. 3. Communicates with Nursing Services, Medical Staff, Ancillary and SPD employees requesting technical information, ordering and service. 4. Establishes inventory supply levels and maintains instruments, equipment tray accessories, medical and surgical back-up inventory. 5. Adheres to regulatory standards regarding infection control, safety, specifically pertaining to SPD job functions. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements: Qualifications/Work Experience 3 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred Prior Supervisory experience in sterile processing or operating room is preferred. Education/Certification/Licensure Associate's Degree preferred California Central Service Association (CCSA) or International Association of Hospital Central Service Management (IAHCSM) Technician certification is required.
