???? What You’ll Do

As a Build Lead, you’ll oversee equipment builds, support technicians, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to PowerBuilt quality standards.

You’ll:

Lead mechanical assembly and build activities for custom automation equipment
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from build kickoff through customer buyoff
Coordinate shop resources, contractors, and technician workloads
Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic systems during assembly and testing
Route and organize pneumatic tubing and cabling cleanly and efficiently
Support conveyor builds, complex transfers, lifts, and automation systems
Work closely with engineering to resolve design or fitment issues
Document non-conformance issues and provide redlines for engineering updates
Monitor schedules, labor usage, and project progress
Coordinate shipping logistics, packing lists, and ship-loose verification
Maintain organized build photos/videos for project tracking and final records
Lead buyoff setup activities and support customer demonstrations
Mentor junior technicians and help develop shop talent
Drive continuous improvement ideas to improve build efficiency and quality

???? What We’re Looking For

Strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experience
Experience leading equipment builds or production teams
Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
Understanding of pneumatic systems and mechanical fitment
Basic familiarity with PLC field devices, sensors, I/O blocks, and automation hardware
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering documentation
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
Leadership mindset with willingness to coach and support others
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred:

Experience with conveyors, lift assists, robotics integration, or custom automation systems
Previous experience coordinating contractors or technicians
Forklift and rigging experience is a plus
