Direct Care Worker (DCW)

Stand Out Home Care

Stand Out Home Care is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Care Workers (DCWs) to provide quality in-home support to individuals who need assistance due to aging, disability, illness, or other health-related conditions. Our Direct Care Workers play a vital role in helping clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.

• Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement.

• Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences.

• Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

• Provide transportation to medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other community outings.

• Assist with medication reminders and follow established care plans.

• Observe, document, and report any changes in clients' physical, emotional, or mental condition.

• Promote client safety while respecting their privacy, dignity, and independence.

• Collaborate with clients, families, healthcare providers, and agency staff to ensure quality care.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older .

• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Must possess current CPR and First Aid Certification .

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check .

• Must possess a current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (or be eligible to obtain one).

• Must successfully pass the Direct Care Worker (DCW) competency test .

• Ability to work independently and follow individualized care plans.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful.

• Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients when necessary.

• Basic understanding of medication safety and infection control practices.

• Strong observation skills to identify and report changes in client condition.

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment

• Primarily provides services in clients' homes.

• May occasionally work in assisted living or residential care settings.

• Requires professionalism, discretion, and strict confidentiality regarding client information.

• Involves regular interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
