You'll also get to work at a company that cares about your career growth and will help you get the support you need to expand your possibilities.Click HERE to learn more about our Day 1 Benefits, 401k Program, Company Perks, Career Opportunities, Advancement Programs, Scholarships and more!We Love Our Work.Responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide the Company with the best people talent available and to position the Company as the employer of choice by being aware of policies, practices, and trends within the gaming and racing industriesResponsible for hiring of all team members (approximately 1200) for the successful opening of the casino, training, employee relations, employee engagement, succession planning, compensation planning, retention strategies, benefit and HR administrationParticipate in the development of the property's strategic logics to include plans and programs as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on peopleEvaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the propertyDevelop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the property for positions of responsibility. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the CompanyDevelop programs to allow the property to embrace applicants and employees of all ethnicity/backgrounds and to permit the full development and performance of all employeesEstablish credibility throughout the property with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issuesDevelop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the property. Included in this area but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career developmentMaintain knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issuesProvide technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resources disciplineManage the budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources DepartmentContinue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic logics and operational people issues of the organizationEvaluation of the human resource department structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) for individualsAccomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested by the property General ManagerDemonstrate abilities to meet performance expectations with Communications, Initiative/Problem Solving, Guest Service/Interpersonal Relations, Work Habits and Conduct, and Responsible Gaming/Business EthicsBring Us Your Best.Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university is preferredTen years of progressive experience in the human resources, with at least three years experience at a senior/executive level, including recruitment, training, benefit administration, compensation, and employee/labor relationsMust be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)Must have prior experience in high volume recruiting, experience developing and leading HR teams with a business partner model and prior experience with property/company openingsMust have experience working in a union environment and taken part in negotiations with the unionStrong analytical skills, accounting and good understanding human resourcesAbility to research and gather data from internet and other sources, compile information, and prepare reportsAbility to create, compose, and edit written materialsExtensive knowledge of principles, theories, and practice of human resources managementPhysically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces Candidates with the following skills or experience are preferred but not required: PHR or SPHR professional designation preferredMaster's degree in human resources, business or related field from an accredited four-year college or universityPrior experience in the gaming industry experienceStay In The Game.
