Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leads assigned components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple legal entities. Prepares and reviews journal entries including accruals, deferrals, allocations, and reclasses. Ensures timely and accurate posting in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Maintains close checklists and ensures deadlines are consistently met. Owns preparation and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate support and aging. Identifies, investigates, and resolves reconciling items in a timely manner. Maintains roll forwards for key accounts including accruals, reserves, intercompany, inventory‑related accounts, and fixed assets. Supports accounting impacts related to inventory, cost of goods sold, freight, logistics, and reserves. Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure accurate accruals and cut‑off. Assists with physical inventory, cycle count adjustments, and inventory reserve analysis. Prepares and reconciles intercompany transactions and balances. Supports intercompany eliminations and dispute resolution. Ensures consistency of accounting treatment across entities. Acts as a power user in D365 F&O for GL‑related processes. Improves close efficiency through automation, recurring journals, standardized templates, and improved documentation. Assists with system enhancements, reporting improvements, and process standardization. Supports internal controls over financial reporting including documentation and evidence retention. Prepares schedules and support for internal and external audits. Ensures compliance with accounting policies and supports continuous improvement of controls. Partners with FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain, AP, and AR to ensure financial accuracy. Provides guidance and review support to Staff Accountants as needed. Escalates issues proactively and recommends solutions. Fulfills all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Five or more years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger ownership required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must possess a current CPA or be CPA‑eligible. Manufacturing and/or distribution industry experience preferred. Experience in a multi‑entity environment is preferred. Strong balance sheet reconciliation and documentation skills. Strong knowledge of GAAP. Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize effectively. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or comparable ERP. Exposure to inventory accounting, cost accounting, or intercompany accounting. Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Sound professional judgment and ability to identify financial risk. Clear written and verbal communication. Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
