Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology (Hematopathology)-CHLA

The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine are actively seeking a full-time faculty member to join our hematopathology program that is internationally recognized in flow cytometry and molecular technologies. Our team works in close collaboration with the CHLA Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) to provide interdisciplinary care for pediatric patients with diverse hematologic conditions and serves as a referral center for multiple institutions and organizations. Research, clinical service, and teaching responsibilities are intertwined in an engaging and collegial environment. Position and Qualifications This position is at the Assistant/Associate Professor level; salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience and scholarly accomplishments. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree, a California medical license upon hire and demonstrated excellence in applied laboratory science, translational research and education. American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, and Hematology (Hematopathology) is required. Special consideration will be given to candidates with Molecular Genetic Pathology certification and/or relevant experience. CHLA\'s Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine\'s Clinical Laboratories provide a full range of diagnostic testing and consultation services, including: clinical chemistry; biochemical genetics and special chemistry; point-of-care testing; hematology/coagulation; clinical microbiology and virology; HLA, immunology, flow cytometry and a full-service transfusion medicine program, including donor center, blood bank and therapeutic apheresis service. We offer rich clinical teaching opportunities with fellows through a joint hematopathology fellowship program with the Department of Pathology at KSOM of USC, as well interdisciplinary trainees from the CBDI and other post-graduate medical education programs at CHLA and KSOM. Excellent opportunities for collaborative research exist within the Department with colleagues and resources in the Divisions of Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, and Genomic Medicine/Center for Personalized Medicine, as well as interdisciplinary research collaborations with colleagues throughout CHLA and The Saban Research Institute (TSRI). Salary : The annual base salary range for this position is $250,000-$300,000.
