Area Safety Manager

Area Safety Manager – Orlando, FL Airgas is seeking an experienced Area Safety Manager to support the implementation, auditing, and continuous improvement of safety and compliance initiatives across multiple facilities in the Orlando region. The role involves ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and fostering a culture of safe work behaviors. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning, administering, and supporting ongoing safety programs to advance and support compliance across all locations. Coordinate audits of all governmental disciplines, ensuring required documents, training, and safety measures are in place. Interpret safety policies, regulations, and standards to recommend or provide direction to local teams. Liaise between facility teams and internal/external auditors, forwarding findings for corrective action. Develop and schedule driver training and other specialized training programs, ensuring all applicable training is performed. Assist the Director of Safety and Compliance in monthly safety meetings, data presentations, and compliance training at branches and customer locations. Maintain permits and location files, update medical manuals and procedures, and support hazard assessment activities. Key Qualifications Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 65% of the time. Bachelor’s degree preferred; a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the industrial gas or related industry, and 7+ years in safety, risk management, or compliance roles. Working knowledge of Google Workspace and strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing internal and external documents.
