Anesthesiologist coverage is sought to address current staffing needs within the Anesthesia Department.

The area offers access to outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, swimming, and camping, as well as notable destinations such as Carlsbad Caverns National Park, located 18 miles southwest of the city, the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park, Lake Carlsbad Recreation Area, and the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center. Guadalupe Mountains National Park lies approximately 58 miles southwest, extending across the Texas border.
About the Clinician's WorkdayThe anesthesiologist will provide day shift coverage Monday through Friday at a community hospital operating room in Carlsbad, NM, with call responsibilities every 4th week covering Monday through Thursday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The surgical case mix includes bread and butter cases and obstetric procedures, with an average of 262 cases and 20 deliveries per month. This role is predominantly hands-on, with 95% MD hands-on involvement under an autonomous practice model with 1 CRNA. Board certification in Anesthesiology and prescriptive authority are required for this assignment.
