Financial Success Coordinator, Texas One Stop for Enrollment Services Hiring Department: Texas One Stop Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS About the Role The Financial Success Coordinator will counsel students on personal financial issues, including budget planning, credit management, and debt reduction. They will provide financial literacy and financial aid information and programming to students so they can make informed decisions. They will plan and lead various outreach events and activities to increase public awareness of UT Austin resources and programs while assisting families in better understanding the financial aid and financing college process. They will also supervise and coordinate the Peer Mentor team and act as a point of contact for students, parents, campus, and community stakeholders regarding financial wellness. Must be willing to obtain Certified Personal Finance Counselor Certification (CPFC). Responsibilities Conduct financial wellness appointments and presentations that assist students with educational and personal financial wellness issues, including FAFSA completion, financial aid processes, budgeting, credit management, debt reduction, and more. Serve as point-of-contact and steward of financial wellness activities to university and community stakeholders. Plan and conduct various financial literacy and financial aid events and activities on and off campus, ensuring stakeholder and leadership goals are met. Supervise the Financial Success Peer Mentor program. Plan and deliver ongoing training, provide feedback and assessment of peer mentor work. Hire peer mentors and ensure that their skills and availability meet the needs of the office. Assist Texas One Stop during peak periods via front counter or email to counsel students on a variety of enrollment services (e.g., financial aid, billing, academic records, registration). Apply critical analysis, independent discretion, and professional judgment to address a wide range of student needs and situations. Oversee the Financial Success digital resources. Plan and execute strategies for delivering digital content to students to meet the needs of students and leadership. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in financial counseling, student financial aid, student personnel, student services, or related experience. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Suite. Organized, detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, and capable of multi‑tasking in a high‑stress environment. Superior project, communication, and time‑management skills and a professional demeanor. Willingness to work evenings and weekend events as required; occasional overnight travel may be required. Must divest any stock or ownership interest in a student loan lender before employment; shares in publicly traded mutual funds are exempt. In good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access NSLDS to verify such standing. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree and more than the required years of experience. Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and WaitWell. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure. Knowledge of and proficiency with software including MS Word and Excel. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, shared space environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to make presentations to individuals and groups of various sizes. Spanish‑speaking. Salary $50,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
