Hospital Emergency Management Specialist

Job Summary The Emergency Management Specialist assists in planning, organizing, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Grady Health System Emergency Management program to provide for the safety and protection of people and property. Assists in providing direction during disaster or emergency situations. Interacts with other hospitals and government agencies in coordinating and integrating the response by the Grady Health System to such disasters or emergency situations; and performs related work as required. Identifies inconsistencies among plans and proposes corrective measures Maintains inventory of GHS-owned and Federal supplies and equipment Acts as representative of Emergency Management and Region D Regional Coordinating Hospital (RCH), as needed Conducts decontamination training for the health system and assists in the readiness of the personnel and equipment Maintains the Hospital Command Center, its equipment and ensures its readiness for activation Updates the contacts and ensures the accuracy of contact information in the distribution database for GHS and Regional groups Provides training and education on Emergency Management procedures, plans, Incident Command System, evacuation equipment Works directly with appropriate GHS staff to design, develop, coordinate, and implement hospital-wide and site-specific training regarding the Emergency Operations Plan Assists in orchestrating the execution of two exercises per calendar year to meet accreditation standards/requirements Participates in the design, coordination, and implementation of emergency management plans, procedures, and training for internal and external events. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of Emergency Management experience, preferably Hospital experience Core Competencies These competencies reflect the values and behaviors expected of all Grady team members, regardless of role.
