Sterile Processing Technician

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Mid shift: 5x8 hours from 15:00 to 23:30, Monday to Friday. No call requirements.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a critical role in the maintenance and sterilization of medical instruments used in surgical procedures. This position requires attention to detail and adherence to stringent infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments.
• Perform high-level disinfection and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) as needed.
• Document equipment processing and sterilization results accurately.
• Utilize washers, sterilizers, and other cleaning equipment effectively.
• Select appropriate wrapping materials for sterilization.
• Assist in maintaining biological indicators and chemical indicators.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute hospital operating rooms, particularly with Neuro, Spine, and Cardiac instrumentation.
• Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM is required.
• Active compact license must be in hand at submission.
