The work includes neurosurgical recovery and stroke management. Advanced clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration are essential. Nurses will be required to respond to rapid responses and manage cardiac drips without titration. Experience with respiratory support, including oxygen administration, is necessary. The nurse-to-patient ratio during shifts is typically 1:4 to 1:5. Candidates should be comfortable floating to other units within their skill set. There is a holiday commitment of one holiday per 13-week contract. Travelers are required to work a minimum of one holiday during their assignment. The position may involve shift call-offs as per facility policy. Applicants should be ready to work weekends as scheduled. The unit also cares for patients needing continuous epilepsy monitoring. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including rapid response teams, is expected. Isolation precautions and PPE use will be part of the role's responsibilities. Support from interdisciplinary teams is readily available. Work will encompass the management of various neurological and medical conditions.
