CNC SET UP Operator

Job Title Safely set-up and operate CNC machines while producing quality ceramic cores in accordance with standard operating procedures and customer supplied specifications. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities Safely set-up and operate CNC machines while producing quality ceramic cores in accordance with standard operating procedures and customer supplied specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow documented job specific work instructions Set up fixtures and safely operate CNC machines to produce quality ceramic cores Possess knowledge of machining functions, operation buttons and switches Capable of securing product and operating stops and guides for proper product alignment Visually inspect product and identify defects Maintain required documentation and paperwork Produce quality ceramic cores, meeting production goals and quality requirements Maintain a clean and organized workstation Communicate effectively with manager, lead person, quality inspectors, engineering, and fellow operators Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 6S activities Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills, Knowledge Required High School Diploma or GED equivalent Strong mechanical aptitude Use of precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.) Experience in a manufacturing environment Good communication skills Willingness to work independently Excellent attendance & dependability a must Willingness to cross-train in other company job functions is expected Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift (plus overtime, when required) Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. Working in a manufacturing environment Equipment Used CNC machines, various product fixtures and mounting equipment, handheld inspection loop, various diamond reamers and carbide drills, precision measuring tools, computer keyboard and scanner Additional Information To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.
