Major duties include:

Exercises the full range of supervisory duties, working with subordinate staff to execute established work plans, set priorities, and establish work schedules that support park maintenance operations.

Utilizes Facility Management Software Systems (FMSS) to manage assets, conduct inventories and condition assessments, and develop accurate deferred maintenance estimates for annual and multi-year planning.

Coordinates project scopes, goals, and objectives; facilitates planning and design; prepares spending plans and budget protocols; manages construction activities; and ensures complete and compliant project documentation.

Administers a comprehensive safety and training program to eliminate at-risk behaviors, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Manages Park roads, grounds, and facility operations in alignment with NPS Environmental Audit Program best practices and ensures all work complies with NEPA, the National Historic Preservation Act, and standards for protecting cultural and natural resources.

Vicksburg National Military Park preserves and interprets the Vicksburg Campaign and Siege (1863) and contains over 1,400 monuments and markers, as well as interpretation of the U.S.S. Cairo.
