Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a critical care focused position at a Level II Trauma Center.

Job Details

• Level II Trauma Center with 411 beds,
• Respiratory Therapy department covering 3 Adult ICUs, Cardiac Critical Care Unit, Level II Trauma Emergency Department, Intermediate Care Unit, and General Medical Floors,
• Level III NICU & PICU also present, though training not required unless position is posted specifically for this area,
• Common patient diagnoses include COPD, CHF, Cystic Fibrosis, ARDS, MVA Trauma/Surgery, Pneumonia, Lung CA, Stroke, ALS, GBS, COVID-19, and RSV,
• 36 hours per week on a variable schedule, starting on days with possible transition to nights later in the contract,
• Day shift hours 0645-1915 and night shift hours 1845-0715,
• Weekend rotation every other weekend,
• Voluntary on-call only, 2 hours before and after shift start time,
• Floating limited to other trained units only,
• Uses Cerner charting system,
• Equipment includes Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60, V30, EV300, Vero Biotech Nitric Delivery, and Drager (NICU only),

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist,
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required; CRT considered only with extensive experience and manager approval,
• BLS required for Adult RT positions,
• BLS and NRP required for NICU/PICU/Peds RT positions, PALS preferred,
• Critical care experience including airway and ventilator management, ABG puncture and analysis, non-invasive ventilation, code blue and rapid response, and inhaled medication administration,
• NICU/PICU/Peds RT positions require previous NICU/PICU and Adult experience,
• Experience with Oscillator 3100 Sensormatic and Drager ventilator helpful for NICU/PICU/Peds positions,
• License required if applicable,

Additional Information

• Work within a highly critical care focused, protocol-driven RT team,
• Support team includes Lead/Charge, Manager, Assistant Manager, RT Educator, and Medical Director,
• Orientation includes 1 general orientation shift with RT Educator and 1 shift per each unit trained to (generally 4-5 shifts),
• Holiday coverage as assigned unless RTO is included in contract,
• RTO requests must be approved through Manager,
• Scrubs may be any professional color or pattern, with access to OR scrub machines,
• Free on-site parking available,
