Assistant Controller

Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to help lead a dynamic accounting function within a multi-entity organization. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to drive financial operations, support strategic growth initiatives, lead a talented team, and partner closely with executive leadership. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong technical accounting expertise, a process‑improvement mindset, and experience navigating complex accounting environments, including leases, acquisitions, and systems implementations. What You’ll Do Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes to ensure accurate and timely GAAP‑compliant financial reporting Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, inventory accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations Review financial results, investigate variances, and ensure the integrity of financial data Strengthen and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Manage lease accounting activities under ASC 842, including ROU assets, liabilities, and disclosures Partner on mergers and acquisitions, including purchase accounting and post‑acquisition integration efforts Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and lead the annual audit process Drive ERP implementations, system conversions, and accounting process improvements Collaborate cross‑functionally to enhance reporting, scalability, and overall business performance Develop and mentor accounting team members while fostering a high‑performance culture Support the organization through growth, transformation, and strategic initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA strongly preferred; MBA is a plus 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting Background within multi‑entity organizations required Private equity‑backed company experience and M&A exposure highly preferred Experience leading or supporting ERP implementations and system conversions Experience with Sage Intacct, ServiceTitan, or comparable ERP platforms preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities What Makes You Successful Hands‑on leadership style with a strong sense of ownership Ability to operate effectively in a complex, growth‑oriented environment Strong communication skills and ability to partner across departments Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on scalability and efficiency Proven success developing and mentoring high‑performing teams Ability to balance strategic initiatives with day‑to‑day accounting execution Why This Opportunity Stands Out High‑impact leadership role with visibility to executive management Opportunity to influence accounting operations during a period of growth and transformation Exposure to acquisitions, systems implementations, and process optimization initiatives Collaborative culture with significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement Stable organization with an exciting future and ongoing investment in its people #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
