The Role Lumen’s Public Sector Technology Solutions Support team is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Solution Architect Manager to join our DoW Solutions Support team. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience in the Department of Defense space and experience managing personnel. A deep understanding of the EIS contract and other DoW contracts is essential for this role. Location Hybrid position within the United States. When not in the local office, the professional can work from home one to two days weekly. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of solution architects and engineers, ensuring they are well‑equipped to meet organizational goals and manage team performance. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive technology solutions—including networking—that meet the strategic and operational needs of DoW clients, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices. Apply expertise in Dark Fiber, Layers1–4, IP VPN, DIA, Ethernet; international experience, cyber, and Zero Trust are pluses. Utilize in‑depth knowledge of the EIS contract and other DoW contracts to guide solution development and ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Engage with DoW clients to understand their needs, articulate the value of proposed solutions, and establish long‑term relationships as a trusted advisor. Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the strategic vision for the DoW solution architecture practice, contributing to business planning, technology roadmap development, and resource allocation. Provide technical oversight to ensure architectural integrity and consistency across projects; review and approve technical designs to align with enterprise architecture standards. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices, process enhancements, and innovative solutions—and staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and DoW requirements. Qualifications Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation. DoW clearance of Top Secret preferred. Experience in the DoW space with a proven track record of delivering complex technology solutions. Experience managing teams. Extensive understanding of the EIS contract and other relevant DoW contracts; ability to navigate and comply with contractual requirements. Strong foundation in enterprise architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure; ability to discuss a wide range of emerging technologies and practices. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in the military or private sector. Excellent presentation, speaking, and writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences, including senior DoW officials. Proven ability to build strong working relationships that bridge technical and business functions; demonstrated ability to quickly establish trust with clients and engage with a shared vision for transformation and success. Ability to navigate and overcome business and technical hurdles, demonstrating business benefits and operational paths required to achieve change. Comfortable working in both direct and matrixed operating structures. Travel requirements: occasional. Compensation Base salary ranges vary by state. Typical ranges include:

• 130,738–$174,306 in AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY
• 137,271–$183,024 in CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI
• 143,814–$191,742 in AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA
