Assistant Project Manager (Construction)The Assistant Project Manager (Construction) assists with providing the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule, from initial project identification through construction closeout. May supervise office/field administrative staff or project/field engineers and other assigned staff.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Assists the Project Manager in developing project specific procedures, documentation and related A/E systems for the projectKnowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with construction/project requirementsObtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entitiesAssists in the management of project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems and project closeoutSupports project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statusesMay assist in coordinating and monitoring activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entitiesPerforms other duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required (Extensive relevant project management experience in place of education may be considered)Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager in the Education Sector is requiredKnowledge of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles is requiredStrong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems such as Prolog and Primavera are requiredProficiency with various document control systems, as well as new construction and modernization of K-12 schools is preferredConstruction Manager in Training (CMIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferredBenefitsVanir offers a comprehensive, competitive benefits package that includes 401(k) Savings with employer matching contributions, medical, dental, vision, health savings account (HSA) with employer contributions, life, AD&D and disability benefits, flexible spending account (FSA), voluntary benefits, Teladoc, pet insurance, paid time off, national employee assistance program (EAP) and employee referral program.
