Your role on the team: (job description) Design, develop, andoptimizelogical and physical database models to support business and technical requirements Oversee the architecture, implementation, and management ofhighly available, scalable, and secure database solutions (on-premises and/or cloud) Set database standards, guidelines, and best practices for data modeling, data integrity, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into robust database designs Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and platforms to meet evolving business requirements Lead orparticipatein database migration, integration, and modernization initiative Monitor database performance,identifybottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies foroptimalefficiency Enforce data governance policies and ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations Mentor andprovidetechnical guidance to database administrators and junior engineers Develop andmaintaindatabase documentation, architecture diagrams, and data dictionaries Other Duties: As required and assigned Supports GEODIS’ programs for Safety, Health, Environment,Quality ,Ethics, Compliance,CSRand Sustainability What you need:(requirements) 8+ years of experience in database design, architecture, and administration Deepexpertisein relational (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) database technologies Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is highly desirable Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security best practices Proficient in SQL, data modeling tools, and scripting languages Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data solutions is a plus. (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift,BigQuery) Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or equivalent are a plus Experience with distributed database systems and sharding strategies Exposure to real-time streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis) Bonus if you have:(Preferred requirements) Strategic thinking and architectural vision Leadership and mentoring abilities Strong documentation and presentationskills Abilityto work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
