Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Required Credentials: Pass/fail open-book skills exam on Friday during orientation; must score 90% to pass. You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.

Unit Details: Patient population includes joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. Titrate drips include heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine; PCA pumps are used. Tele techs interpret strips; RNs should have some telemetry awareness. Mechanical lifts are available in every other room.

Shift & Scheduling: Typically every other weekend, though additional coverage may be needed based on department demand. Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance, with the manager making adjustments as needed. 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years.

Floating Requirements: Float to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
