Position Description:

This is the 10 speed and hybrid transmission systems engineer position with a focus on warranty deep dive and issue resolution. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and owns the product and delivers the cost, quality and warranty improvements for customers. We need qualified people to help us succeed in this critical area that is responsible for maximizing warranty costs and customer satisfaction. Come join the fast-paced RWD Hybrid Transmission Team! We are responsible for providing exciting customer experience across multiple product lines! The 10R Transmission Team is looking for engineers to help evaluate current warranty trends, deep dive field issues while working with component and system design and release engineers, manufacturing plants, calibration, service and dealers.

Job Responsibilities:

Serve as a product development engineer responsible for 10 speed RWD propulsion systems and their integration into vehicle spaces.

Take ownership of the transmission system and component warranty, work hand in hand with component engineers

Work as a team to improve part quality and increase the customer experience.

Lead root cause investigations and follow ups with assembly plants and service teams.

Must be in Livonia Michigan 4 days a week or more depending on specific testing/hardware needs.

Work with OEM Powertrain Manufacturing and OEM Vehicle Assembly Plants on manufacturing related improvement actions.

Primary Skills Required:

Transmissions

Experience Required:

Bachelors degree in Engineering.

Calibration and vehicle data collection knowledge

Caltools experience preferred; ATI, etc.

Hands-on problem solver and strong root cause skills.

Independent, self-starter when required.

Good communicator and can foster relationships with suppliers.

A "be curious" and "continued improvement" mindset.

A strong drive to both learn from and teach others.

Emotor, Hybrid, FHEV/PHEV experience preferred

OEM design/release experience preferred.

Additional Information:

***HYBRID / 4 days per week on site***

Must be approved to travel globally.

Short term travel may be required.
