Description:
The Emergency Room is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department.
RNs will need to pass a skills examination during orientation.
The examination will be open book, with resources provided for success.
A score of 90% is required to pass.
Artificial nails are prohibited in departments providing patient care.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in termination of the contract.
The facility has a total of 33 beds, including trauma bays.
Patients seen daily typically range from 70 to 85, including adults and pediatric cases.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 RN to 4 patients.
The emergency department has in-house security for safety.
Common patient diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, sepsis, and trauma.
All rooms in the department have the capability for cardiac monitoring.
Nursing staff will manage their own admission holds intermixed with ER patients.
Transport to radiology is shared between ED and radiology staff.
The facility completes 95% of orders via nurse draw.
Shifts may include day shifts, mid-shifts, and night shifts.
Weekend requirements typically involve working every third weekend.
Holidays are also required, including one in the winter and one in the summer.
There is no call or standby requirement for this position.
Navy scrubs are the expected dress code.
Orientation will consist of 1 to 2 days of unit-specific training.
A cancellation policy allows for a specified number of shifts to be canceled during the assignment.
Additional training may be required for specific certifications.
