Qualifications Master's Degree in Communication Disorders or Speech‑Language Pathology Speech‑language pathology program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in audiology and speech‑language pathology of the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) Practicum ASHA certification or Praxis II Speech‑Language Pathology Exam Valid Colorado Driver's License and favorable driving record required Position Responsibilities Assesses students' communication skills (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) to identify communication disorders, determine program eligibility, and develop recommendations for treatment. Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals (parents, teachers, physicians, administration, maintenance personnel team members, other professionals, etc.) to communicate information, resolve issues, and provide services in compliance with established guidelines. Coordinates meetings and processes for eligible students (testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre‑referral staffing, etc.) to present evaluation results, develop treatment plans, and provide training to parents, students, and staff. Develops treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders, in compliance with regulatory requirements. Instructs assigned support staff to provide information on communicative disorders, use of assistive devices, and feeding techniques, and to implement prescribed treatment plans. Instructs eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies (hearing aids, FM systems, augmentative communication devices, etc.) to minimize the adverse educational impact of communication disorders, per guidelines and legal requirements. Interprets medical reports within the scope of the Speech/Language Pathologist's experience and goals to provide appropriate information and ensure treatment/intervention plans are appropriate. Maintains files and records (progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc.) to ensure information is available for reference and compliance. Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.) to convey and/or gather information. Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Performs site visits at multiple work sites, including home visits, to provide therapy and assistance as required. Prepares a wide variety of written materials (activity logs, correspondence, memos, treatment plans, Medicaid billings, reports, required documentation, etc.) to document activities and provide written reference. Provides speech and language therapy to students to minimize the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success. Researches resources and methods (intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) to determine the appropriate approach for addressing students' needs.
