Bonus Offer: A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available for Registered Nurses (RNs) with over 2 years of acute care experience. Specific eligibility criteria and payout details will be discussed during the interview.
Hourly Wage: $36.00–$49.16

Key ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse (RN) delivers prompt, high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and triage patients according to established clinical guidelines.
- Administer emergency nursing care, treatments, and life-saving measures.
- Dispense medications, blood products, and IV therapies as prescribed.
- Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and communicate changes to the healthcare team without delay.
- Assist in emergency procedures, trauma management, diagnostic testing, and patient stabilization.
- Operate and oversee emergency and life-support equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Promote patient safety, quality care, and favorable clinical outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:
- Valid RN License in the state.
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
- ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and must be kept current.
- PALS certification and/or ENPC required within 30 days of hire and must be kept current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days of hire.
- Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- For Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN certification within 12 months of hire and must be kept current.
- For EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric courses 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
- For non-OB facilities: NRP certification required within 90 days of hire and must be kept current.
- Completion of Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire is mandatory.
Our organization is an integrated healthcare system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of over 40 primary and specialty care locations. This includes a regional referral hospital that features the only Cancer Care Center in the area, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and a heart and vascular institute. We also support the state's only medical helicopter service.
Additionally, we operate two critical access hospitals that provide vital care to rural communities in Maine.
