Position Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Employment Type: Full-time | Night Shifts | 7 PM – 7 AM | 12-Hour Shifts

We invite recent nursing graduates to apply, offering a comprehensive residency program that includes practical training and dedicated mentorship to enhance confidence and clinical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct care to assigned Medical-Surgical patients
Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor patient conditions and responses to treatments
Communicate any changes in patient conditions, diagnostic results, and symptoms to physicians
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
Educate patients and their families while guiding nursing support staff
Respond promptly and accurately to any changes in patient status
Maintain precise and timely clinical documentation
Ensure adherence to patient safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and other compliance standards

Qualifications

Possession of a current and valid state RN License
Current BLS certification required upon hire and must be maintained
ACLS certification preferred within 30 days of hire and must be maintained
Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred
Experience with ventilator management is preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred

Working Conditions

Employment Status: Full Time | Shift: Nights
