The Planet Group is seeking a Project Manager to join the internal advertising agency of a well-known global pharmaceutical company! This is a great opportunity for someone with advertising agency experience who enjoys managing creative projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and keeping campaigns moving from concept through execution.

\n

\n

You'll work alongside talented account managers, designers, creative teams, and digital specialists to bring a variety of marketing initiatives to life. No pharmaceutical experience is required! We're looking for someone with a strong agency foundation, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive mindset who is excited to learn, grow, and build their career in a new industry.

Position Details

\n

\n
• Location: Hybrid in Mettawa, IL (Tuesday–Thursday onsite)
\n
• Pay: $36.25–$38/hr W2, depending on experience (W2 and benefit options)
\n
• Environment: Collaborative, fast-paced internal advertising agency
\n
• Duration: 1 year to start - potential to extend / convert
\n
• Experience: 1–4 years of advertising agency experience required; pharmaceutical experience is a plus, not a requirement
\n

What You'll Be Doing

\n

\n
• Manage multiple creative and marketing projects simultaneously, including digital campaigns, websites, emails, banners, and print materials.
\n
• Partner closely with account managers, creative teams, designers, and other stakeholders to keep projects organized, on schedule, and within budget.
\n
• Own project timelines, schedules, deliverables, and resource coordination from kickoff through final execution.
\n
• Lead project status meetings, communicate updates, track action items, and proactively identify and resolve potential roadblocks.
\n
• Coordinate creative reviews, feedback, revisions, and approvals to ensure projects move efficiently through production.
\n
• Work with internal digital teams and external vendors to support successful project delivery.
\n
• Maintain accurate project documentation, timelines, estimates, and status reports using project management tools.
\n
• Support budgeting, time tracking, and billing processes.
\n
• Learn and navigate the pharmaceutical industry's creative review and approval processes, including Veeva PromoMats.
\n

What We're Looking For

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree required.
\n
• 1–4 years of experience working within an advertising or creative agency , ideally in project management, creative production, or account/client services.
\n
• Experience coordinating creative projects and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
\n
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to keep projects moving across multiple teams.
\n
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with account managers, creative teams, and other stakeholders.
\n
• Ability to build and maintain project timelines, track deliverables, and manage competing priorities.
\n
• Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a willingness to jump in and take ownership.
\n
• Familiarity with creative production workflows and project management tools.
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• Experience supporting pharmaceutical or healthcare advertising clients.
\n
• Experience managing digital deliverables such as websites, emails, banners, or interactive assets.
\n
• Print production experience.
\n
• Familiarity with Workfront, Kantata/Mavenlink, or similar project management platforms.
\n
• Exposure to Veeva PromoMats or Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review processes.
\n
