Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families while collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Assists in the orientation process of new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees. The staff nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care based on specific chronological and developmental needs.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• At least three years of experience in OB, Postpartum, and/or L&D.
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, including evaluations of safety and educational needs.
• Participate in establishing a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data, in conjunction with all involved disciplines.
• Implement and evaluate the plan of care aligned with identified patient goals and anticipated outcomes; modify the plan of care based on ongoing assessment of patient status.
• Complete all documentation according to established standards and utilize appropriate documentation tools.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and implement individualized education plans based on identified needs.
• Actively engage in Department of Nursing or unit-based initiatives, including provision of in-service opportunities and participating in committees and task forces.
• Provide age-appropriate care for the specific population served, as detailed by the organization.
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
• Deliver excellent service experience to all customers consistently demonstrating the established Standards of Performance.
