Lead Infrastructure & Network Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering, along with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• We need deep expertise in one infrastructure technology and scripting languages.
• We require strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud platforms, with the ability to work across and migrate between public and private clouds.
• We look for solid depth in one or more infrastructure areas such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance analysis.
• We value curiosity and systems thinking, with the ability to ask the right questions and explain how interconnected systems work together.
• We need experience in network fabric and connectivity, including routing, switching, wireless, and WAN across preferred technologies.
• We require experience in security, edge, and segmentation, including perimeter protection and Zero Trust segmentation using preferred technologies.
• We expect proficiency with engineering toolchains, including automation, version control, and observability for network and infrastructure services.
• We need demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI tools in infrastructure engineering workflows, with strong validation habits and sensitivity to data handling.
• We require the ability to review and verify AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating uncertainty and ensuring outcomes meet resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
• Preferred experience includes technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Juniper Mist, Cisco/Viptela, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Zscaler, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ThousandEyes, Splunk, Grafana, and Wireshark.

• We lead workstreams or projects involving one or more infrastructure engineering technologies and partner across platforms to resolve issues and modernize technology processes.
• We assess upstream and downstream impacts across data, systems, and technical environments, and recommend mitigation actions.
• We apply technical expertise and structured problem-solving to moderate-scope projects, delivering inventive solutions for design, development, and troubleshooting.
• We collaborate with risk, audit, and compliance teams, translating regulatory requirements into sound engineering decisions and serving as a subject matter expert for internal auditors and, where appropriate, regulators.
• We develop other engineers through mentoring, technical guidance, architecture reviews, ADRs, and design discussions, helping identify and grow future senior engineers without direct line management.
• We use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to speed up infrastructure analysis and design documentation while validating outputs and handling operational data according to security and sensitivity standards.
• We apply reuse-first, AI-assisted delivery and automation practices to identify recurring issues, validate remediation options, and ensure changes remain traceable, auditable, resilient, and secure.
