Pay Rate: $22.00/hr ($23.00/hr bilingual English/Spanish)

Position Overview
Genesis is hiring an HR & Payroll Assistant to support in-office staffing operations. This role blends HR administration, payroll support, and customer service, and is the first point of contact for many of our field employees. The right person is organized, computer-savvy, and genuinely enjoys helping people, especially when that means patiently walking someone through paperwork over the phone. This is a contract-to-direct opportunity, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow into a permanent, full-time role with our company.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Onboarding & Documentation (Primary Focus)

• Manage the full onboarding process for new employees from offer to first day
• Complete and review new hire paperwork for accuracy and compliance
• Process I-9 verification and manage E-Verify requirements
• Coordinate and review background checks and other pre-employment screening
• Explain onboarding steps clearly and patiently to candidates over the phone, many of whom work in light industrial and skilled trades roles
• Maintain accurate, well-organized employee files and records

Payroll & Time Entry Support (Trained On the Job)

• Support time entry processes that feed into weekly payroll
• Help troubleshoot timekeeping issues with employees and worksite supervisors
• Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks as needed

Customer Service

• Serve as a friendly, reliable point of contact for employees calling with questions
• Provide the same level of care and patience to every caller, regardless of the question
• Collaborate with recruiting, payroll, and accounting teams to resolve issues quickly

What We're Looking For

• A genuine people person, comfortable and patient on the phone with blue-collar and skilled trades workers
• Strong computer skills; comfortable working across multiple monitors and systems throughout the day
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe
• Experience with an in-house CRM or applicant tracking system is a plus
• Prior experience with onboarding, HR administration, I-9/E-Verify, or payroll support preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, though not required
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, in-office environment
• Interested in growing into a long-term, direct-hire position with our team

• This is a 100% in-office position; remote and hybrid schedules are not available
