Diesel Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Full Description

Our client in New Bedford, MA is hiring a Diesel Technician to join their maintenance team This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanic with experience inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. The position works with limited supervision and supports safe, reliable daily operations.


Location: New Bedford, MA
Hours: Monday-Friday from 12:00pm (noon) - done
Pay: $36.00 - $45.00 Sign-On Bonus: $5,000


Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance services on vehicles and heavy equipment
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
• Respond to service calls as needed
• Conduct routine safety inspections on vehicles and equipment
• Review and complete repairs identified on Vehicle Condition Reports
• Assist Lead Mechanics when required
• Accurately complete repair documentation, including parts usage and labor time
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
• Communicate professionally with coworkers, vendors, and management

Qualifications:

• One of the following is required:
• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year of related equipment maintenance and repair experience
• OR 4 years of related equipment maintenance and repair experience
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and perform fine motor tasks

Requirements:

• Frequent use of hands and arms
• Ability to reach, climb, and work at heights greater than 4 feet
• Ability to occasionally lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
