Electrical Controls Technician

Technician PositionThe technician position requires the wiring of electronic components, electrical panels, and devices. Use of small hand tools, ability to read a tape measure. Reports to subassembly floor supervisor.Responsibilities:Wiring electrical control panels efficiently in a high-volume production settingReading and interpreting electrical schematics and B.O.M./drawings, engineering prints/specifications, and/or verbal/written instructionsResponsible for laying out, machining, populating, and wiring of electrical control enclosuresAssembly of mechanical, and/or pneumatic components as required.Use common hand tools, drills, taps, saws, knockout punches, and multi-meter.Verify work performed by checking continuity or simulated functional test to determine proper component circuitry that meets operational requirementsMay require the operation of a forklift, if so training will be providedRequirements:Must have experience using the skills mentioned aboveExperience in wiring electrical control panels, UL 508A experience is a plus.Read and interpret schematics and electrical specifications as required.Working knowledge of AC & DC control circuits, including single and three-phase motor control, PLC terminology/function, and basic knowledge of measuring instruments and meters.The ability to work with and understand electromechanical functionalityKnowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations.Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role in an organized fashion.Strong computer skills. Capable of working with all Microsoft Office applicationsStrong time management and organization skills.
