HHP Pharmacist (PRN)

Position SummaryThe Pharmacist is responsible for the development and implementation of treatment guidelines in addition to operating a Highland Health Providers’ retail pharmacy. The position would require daily, quarterly and annual duties. The daily duties would include, but not limited to assisting primary care providers in assessing patient charts for the correct medication orders taking into account patients overall condition including renal, hepatic, cardiac function and lab work; overseeing and implementing pharmacy business activities; and providing direct education to patients on medications. The Pharmacist will be responsible for the actual management and operation of the pharmacy. The Pharmacist will hold the knowledge, skills and abilities to ensure patient safety is protected in the management and operation on a pharmacy. The position will also assist with financial management, patient recruitment and retention, quality outcomes, relationships with external stakeholders and vendors, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for pharmacy operations as well as the 340B program. This position will expected to engage in continuous improvement and innovation activities and collaborative efforts on revenue generation strategies with the Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer, Director of Quality and Clinic Manager.The Pharmacist would be available for provider consults, drug information and education within the various community health center locations. The Pharmacist would be required to educate HHP staff and providers on new products and policies within the community health center. The Pharmacist maintains a working knowledge of all aspects of the organization’s 340B program including extensive operational experience with third-party vendor 340B management systems. On an annual basis, the Pharmacist would be responsible for producing the annual antibiogram, researching the most cost effective therapeutic substitutions developing new protocols to increase patient safety and expand our patient care. Additional duties include preparing quality assurance reports for review by the organization’s 340B Program oversight committee. The Pharmacist would also participate in general staffing for the pharmacy and attend QAQI, P&T and other committee meetings when needed.Position AccountabilitiesProvide oversight for Highland Health Providers’ Pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local government laws and regulationsProvide leadership and direction of Highland Health Providers Pharmacy to achieve quality patient services, while optimizing patient health outcomesEnsure pharmacy compliance with Office of Pharmacy Affairs 340B regulations.Manage Highland Health Providers’ Pharmacy financial operations including billing, revenue generation, reimbursement systems, budget margins and contract/payer source enrollment in collaboration with Highland Health Providers’ finance teamAnalyze, plan and direct the start-up and continued development of Highland Health Providers Pharmacy location(s). This will include licensure implementation and maintenance, pharmacy renovation, equipment purchases, technology and other items to assure high-quality operation of each Highland Health Providers’ PharmacyServe as a stakeholder in the Highland Health Providers’ Quality Management Committee and participate in quality efforts to increase health outcomes for patientsEnsure the supervision of and guidance for the clinical operations and clinical decision making for the pharmacyEnsure the provision of evidence and/or reasoning behind clinical decisions that are made impacting patients or patient care.Ensures Highland Health Providers’ Pharmacy hires and maintains competent, qualified clinicians that are responsible for providing optimal patient care.Review and analyze the appropriate utilization of Highland Health Providers’ Pharmacy inventory systems.Oversee and expand external pharmacy business and vendor relationships.Assume responsibilities of Highland Health Providers’ leadership team including participation in government relations, strategic planning, and attendance at Highland Health Providers’ events.Work with HHP leadership team to ensure compliance including but not limited to the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, Office of Pharmacy Affairs, Health Resources and Services Administration and HHP policies.Highland Health Providers is committed to serving our community by quality healthcare in an atmosphere of safety, compassion and excellence. Degree or equivalent FQGEC (NABP). Registered Pharmacist with unrestricted license in good standing with the State of Ohio allowing for the dispending of medications is required.Experience– Required: Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacist experience with at least one (1) year of administration experience with oversight for fiscal management.Competencies Required: Thorough understanding of pharmacy operations, pharmacy fiscal management and program evaluation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prefer four (4) years of experience in a community pharmacy setting. Prefer past experience in developing and implementing pharmacy services. Prefer extensive knowledge of specialty disease states including but not limited to diabetes mellitus and anticoagulation management.Physical Demands: The position requires corrected vision and color perception, and the use of two hands. Lifting up to 40 pounds and considerable standing and walking will be required.The Clinical Pharmacist must be physically and emotionally able to handle long hours with minimal absences.The position requires the successful completion of a medical examination after offer of hire has been made. The position requires the employee to be free of all unlawful substances and alcohol. The position requires successful completion of a background check including (but not limited to) education, employment, driving, credit, and criminal history records.Work Environment: The employee works in a relatively comfortable, well-lit area, crowded at times. There is minor risk of skin irritation, burns and damage to clothing by chemicals or pharmaceuticals. Minor cuts from ampoules or glassware are possible.Work Schedule: The Pharmacist works 40 hours per week, normally 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week.Must be willing to work according to clinic needs #J-18808-Ljbffr Highland Health Providers Corp
