Respiratory Therapist - St. Joseph's Health

Description Registered Respiratory Therapist - Full Time. Specializes in the application of scientific knowledge and theory to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. Assumes primary clinical responsibility for all respiratory care modalities specific to the clinical area, including supervision of students enrolled in respiratory care programs. Requires considerable independent clinical judgement in the respiratory care of patients under the direct or indirect supervision of a physician. Employment Type Full time Shift Rotating Shift Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure Graduation from a CoARC accredited program in respiratory care with an Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required and licensed by the State of New York. Participates in orientation and continuing education as mandated by the State of New York, updating and maintaining knowledge and skills related to specific areas of practice expertise and completing population specific competency annually for populations served as identified in scope of care and service. Special Equipment, Skills or Other Requirements BLS/ACLS/NRP/CPR certification within orientation period. Work Environment and Hazards Clinical setting. Exposure class I. Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. Physical Demands Medium work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Pay Range $35.60 - $47.40 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
