Staff Scientist (Part-Time) - Arts and Sciences, Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences

Position Summary Assist in developing and conducting research projects, including experimental design, data analysis, and documentation of experimental results. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Follow instructions and discussions with the principal investigator to design research protocols. Develop procedures for the collection, verification, and management of data. Assist with grant preparation and reporting. Perform complex statistical analysis of data and write interpretative reports. Verify correctness of submitted data and make recommendations based on analyses. Document research topics, prepare, and submit papers for publication or presentation. Troubleshoot equipment or test subject difficulties. Suggest technical or procedural improvements in testing methods. Conduct literature searches related to research projects. Working Conditions Work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment and providing standard care to research animals. Required Qualifications Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education. Laboratory Operations experience – 3 years. No specific certification or professional license is required. Driver’s license not required. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. – Doctor of Philosophy. Analytical problem solving, communication, computer literacy, data analysis, and data interpretation skills. Salary Grade R10‑H salary range: $24.59 - $41.80 per hour.
