About the Role
The Company is in need of an Interim Associate General Counsel to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, acting as the General Counsel's right hand in a highly visible and hands-on role. This position requires a business-minded legal generalist with the ability to independently manage a broad range of legal matters, drive projects to completion, and help scale the effectiveness of the legal department. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements, serving as a trusted partner to the General Counsel, managing pre-litigation and litigation matters, and advising on privacy, marketing, and digital commerce issues. Applicants for the Interim Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a JD, an active license in good standing, and at least 8 years of legal experience, with a focus on in-house experience within a lean legal team. The role demands a candidate with a strong background in commercial contracting, direct experience in advising business partners, and a working knowledge of data privacy issues in an e-commerce setting. The ideal candidate will also have experience in managing litigation, oversight of outside counsel, and be proficient in leveraging AI and legal technology tools to enhance legal work efficiency.
