Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms, position patients, gather vitals and histories, assist with minor procedures, perform phone triage, and manage EHR charting.
• Room patients, take vital signs, record health histories, and position patients for exams and procedures.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintain sterile areas, and pass instruments.
• Collect, prepare, and handle laboratory specimens.
• Perform phone triage, answer voicemails, make post-op calls, and relay test results.
• Schedule outside diagnostic testing and maintain communication with referring physicians.
• Chart all patient encounters, vitals, medical histories, and e-prescriptions in electronic records.
• Sterilize instruments, dispose of contaminated supplies, and keep exam rooms fully stocked.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Active Medical Assistant registration or certification in the Department of Health (DOH).
• Previous experience in Orthopedics, Urgent Care, or ER settings is a plus.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

Skills

• Proficiency in patient care procedures and clinical tasks.
• Effective communication and care coordination skills.
• Ability to manage electronic health records and perform administrative duties efficiently.
