School Registered Nurse | Plainfield, New Jersey

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting the needs of a medically fragile student in a dynamic school setting near Plainfield, NJ. This short-term assignment is ideal for a compassionate Registered Nurse who thrives in one-on-one care and appreciates the unique environment of school nursing. You will be filling in for a vacationing RN, providing essential health services and continuity of care during the assignment from October 1, 2026, through October 10, 2026. Exact daily hours will be confirmed prior to your start date.


Qualifications & Skills:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of New Jersey, required
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
• Proficiency in G-tube care and related medical interventions
• Ability to ride the school bus with a student from approximately 8:00-8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with school staff, students, and families
• Professional, dependable, and attentive to individual student needs
• Only in-person candidates will be considered; remote or telehealth arrangements are not available for this position

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one nursing care for a medically fragile student
• Administer G-tube feedings and other prescribed health interventions
• Monitor, assess, and respond to health needs throughout the school day and during bus transportation
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of care provided
• Collaborate with educators and the student's care team to ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
