Job Description

The Maintenance Technician sets up, changes over, and maintains blow mold and extrusion machines while troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues across multiple production lines. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient operation of up to ten machines at a time in a clean, regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up all blow mold machines according to production requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Perform changeovers on all blow mold machines to accommodate different bottle types, molds, or production runs.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on blow mold machines and extrusion machines to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and related components on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including work on 3-phase motors, AC/DC systems, switches, sensors, and pumps.
• Inspect, adjust, and repair mechanical components, including bearings and grinders, to ensure proper machine performance.
• Use hand tools and other maintenance tools safely and effectively to perform repairs and adjustments.
• Monitor the operation of up to ten machines at once, responding quickly to alarms, faults, and performance issues.
• Work with Kuka robots, Allen Bradley PLCs, and Husky injection mold equipment as needed for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Document maintenance activities and repairs in accordance with plant procedures and regulatory expectations.
• Collaborate with production staff to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to equipment reliability.
• Follow all safety, quality, and FDA-regulated plant procedures while working on blow molding and extrusion equipment.

• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing production machinery.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems and components.
• Experience working with 3-phase motors.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair switches, sensors, and pumps.
• Proficiency using hand tools for mechanical and electrical maintenance work.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on production equipment.
• Experience with AC/DC electrical systems in an industrial setting.
• Ability to manage and support up to ten machines at once while maintaining safety and quality standards.

• Experience with blow molding equipment.
• Experience with injection mold equipment.
• Exposure to or experience with Kuka robots.
• Experience working with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Familiarity with Husky injection molding systems.
• Background in mechatronics or mechanical systems.
• Experience working with bearings or grinders.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a temperature-controlled, FDA-regulated manufacturing plant that produces plastic bottles using blow molding and extrusion machines. The facility is clean, organized, and focused on product quality and safety. Maintenance Technicians work primarily on night swing shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule, with occasional overtime as production demands require. You will regularly interact with advanced technologies such as Kuka robots, Allen Bradley PLCs, Husky injection mold systems, 3-phase motors, and a variety of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
