What You’ll Do

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Universal Family Care, you’ll play a vital role in performing non-treatment, one-time exams for Veterans seeking disability benefits. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting Compensation and Pension Examinations for Veterans.
• Performing thorough reviews of digital medical records.
• Conducting physical assessments tailored to specific disability claims.
• Submitting detailed information through our secure, online VA portal.
• Ensuring all exams are conducted at approved facilities equipped with the proper tools and internet access.
• Managing a flexible schedule, performing exams 1 to 3 days per week .

This role allows you to work autonomously while giving back to those who have given so much for our country.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring a combination of professional expertise and personal qualities. Here’s what we’re looking for:

Qualifications:

• State Board Certification as an adult-gero or family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) or as a Board-Certified Physician Assistant.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience (prior VA work is a plus).
• MSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Valid APRN nursing license.
• Ability to work independently and follow health and safety guidelines consistently.

Skills:

• Proven experience in nursing or physician assistant roles.
• Strong knowledge of the nursing process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Compassionate, patient, and responsible with excellent problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have your own laptop to work.
• Must live within 30 miles driving distance of the facility (closer proximity preferred).
