Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns. Collaborate closely with an experienced team to manage high-risk obstetric cases and fetal monitoring.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor fetal and maternal status using advanced fetal monitoring techniques.
• Administer medications and prepare patients for labor and delivery procedures such as C-sections.
• Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies, including fetal distress and pre-eclampsia.
• Collaborate with support staff and providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
• Float to other units, such as MedSurg, as needed to support hospital operations.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with 3+ years of clinical experience, including labor and delivery.
• Possess certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring.
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for high-risk obstetric patients and emergent situations.
• Have experience with C-section procedures and emergency OB response.
• Be capable of functioning independently in a high-pressure environment.
