AvGen Aerospace is an FAA,EASA and UK CAA-certified 145 Repair Station located in Hialeah, FL. We are a minority owned small business specialized in power generation, galley components, electrical harnesses and electro-mechanical units for commercial, cargo and military aircraft.

About the Role:

The Staff Accountant will oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial data through meticulous bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet oversight. They will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize accounting systems and implement best practices that enhance efficiency and accuracy. Ultimately, the Staff Accountant will provide insightful financial analysis and reporting that drive organizational growth and fiscal responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks.
• Demonstrated experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills with experience in financial forecasting and budgeting.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently as well as part of a team

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• Oversee job costing and cost accounting processes to monitor project profitability and control expenses.
• Lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems to streamline workflows and improve data integrity.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations. Skills:

The required skills such as bank reconciliation, general ledger management, and full cycle accounting are essential for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records on a daily basis. Proficiency in accounting systems enables the Staff Accountant to efficiently process transactions, generate reports, and maintain data integrity. Job costing and cost accounting skills are applied to analyze project expenses and profitability, supporting informed decision-making. Knowledge of accounting principles guides compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
