Associate Operations Support Specialist II

This role supports the reliable operation of advanced electro-mechanical power systems through real-time monitoring and structured troubleshooting. You will monitor system alerts, assess operational issues, and execute defined corrective actions using established procedures and flowcharts. The position combines technical aptitude, careful execution, and independent decision-making in a remote operations environment. You will help ensure issues are resolved within expected timeframes while escalating complex situations to senior engineering teams when appropriate. The role also requires detailed documentation of alerts, troubleshooting steps, system actions, and outcomes. Flexibility is important, with responsibility for afternoon, weekend, vacation, and absence coverage as operational needs change. Accountabilities

System monitoring:

Monitor system alerts, notifications, and operational dashboards throughout assigned shifts and identify issues requiring attention.

Troubleshooting:

Follow established troubleshooting protocols and flowcharts to diagnose and address operational issues efficiently.

System recovery:

Execute approved corrective actions, including restarting hardware systems when appropriate, and escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior engineering personnel.

Issue resolution:

Ensure alerts and operational issues are addressed within established timeframes, escalating promptly when resolution requires additional expertise.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed logs of alerts, troubleshooting activities, actions taken, escalations, and resolutions.

Technical operations:

Develop a strong working understanding of novel electro-mechanical hardware systems and their operating processes.

Independent execution:

Work reliably and independently during assigned afternoon and weekend shifts while following defined procedures and operational standards.

Coverage support:

Provide flexible coverage for open shifts, vacations, absences, and changing operational requirements.

Prioritization:

Manage multiple alerts or operational tasks simultaneously, prioritizing issues according to urgency and established procedures.

Communication:

Communicate operational issues, actions, escalations, and outcomes clearly with relevant team members and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Relevant experience:

Previous experience in operations, dispatch, customer support, technical support, or a comparable environment.

Technical aptitude:

Comfortable learning and working with technical systems, dashboards, alerts, and operational monitoring tools.

Troubleshooting:

Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software systems and applying structured diagnostic procedures.

Process discipline:

Ability to follow detailed instructions, flowcharts, established procedures, and escalation protocols accurately.

Problem-solving:

Strong practical problem-solving skills with an emphasis on taking appropriate action and executing solutions.

Attention to detail:

Highly detail-oriented, particularly when monitoring systems, documenting incidents, and recording troubleshooting activities.

Independence:

Able to work independently and maintain consistent performance during extended remote shifts.

Communication:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical or operational information clearly.

Organization:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize competing alerts, and remain focused in a fast-paced operational environment.

Flexibility:

Willingness to provide shift coverage for team members during vacations, absences, and changing operational needs.

Learning agility:

Ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar electro-mechanical systems, operating procedures, and technical workflows.

Compensation:

$22–$26 per hour, with pay adjusted based on local market conditions and relevant experience.

Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts per week under one of two shift blocks: Sunday–Wednesday, 10:30 AM–9:00 PM PST/PDT

Wednesday–Saturday, 10:30 AM–9:00 PM PST/PDT
