Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab - Part Time 10 Hour Day Shift (Union)

Job Overview As an integral member of the patient care team, the Registered Nurse supports the Chief Nursing Officer in leading the patient care team in providing for the safety, recovery and comfort of patients by implementing the nursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, developing the plan of care and the education plan; implementation of interventions, evaluation of interventions and revision of plan as needed); and provides education and advocacy. Practices in compliance with regulatory requirements including CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, CDPH regulations, DNV-GL/NIAHO standards, etc. Responsibilities Implement the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, plan of care and education plan, interventions, evaluation, and revision as needed. Provide patient education and advocacy, ensuring safety and comfort for patients. Practice in compliance with regulatory requirements (CMS, Title 22, CDPH, DNV‑GL/NIAHO). Support the department manager and director in quality improvement and growth of unit services. Lead in collaboration with co‑workers and other departments, managing efficient services with meaningful outcomes. Make patient‑care decisions within the scope of practice, using patient classification methods to assess acuity. Maintain a healing environment, prevent harm, educate patients on their condition, self‑care actions, abnormal findings, and reporting. Assist the charge nurse with shift planning and contribute to overall unit planning and improvement. Precept and validate the competency of new hires, introduce new procedures, and teach nursing students. Delegate tasks to other RNs, LVNs, and CNAs as indicated. Coordinate the assigned team and communicate expectations to staff regarding interventions and reporting. Report improvement opportunities, unusual events, and information through the chain of command. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education: Graduation from a Registered Nurse Program; BSN desired (if not upon hire, must obtain within 5 years). Minimum Experience: 1 year clinical experience in an acute care setting. Preferred experience with orthopaedic and stroke patient populations. For Cardiac Cath Lab Nurses: 1 year nursing experience in an acute care setting such as ICU, step‑down, or ER; 1+ year experience in IR, EP, or Cardiac Cath Lab preferred. For 6th Floor Med/Surg Employees: two years’ experience with orthopaedic and medical‑surgical nursing; certification in Medical‑Surgical, Orthopaedic or other specialty preferred. Required Licenses & Certifications California Registered Nurse License. Clinical specialty or management certification desired. BLS, ACLS required for all; additional certifications as follows: Surgery: BLS, ACLS. PACU/SDS/GI Lab: BLS, ACLS, PALS. Cath Lab: BLS, ACLS. ED: BLS, ACLS, PALS, AB508 (within 30 days of hire), NIHSS (within 30 days of hire), NRP (within 6 months of hire), ENPC (within 12 months of hire). Geropsych: BLS, AB508 (within 30 days of hire). ICU/5S, 4th Telemetry, 6th Med Surg and Float Pool: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (within 30 days of hire). BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP must be AHA certified. All certifications must be active at the effective date of hire/transfer unless otherwise indicated. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate range: $47.58 to $76.68.
