Tax, Trusts & Estates Paralegal

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Tax, Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join its Century City office. This role will support attorneys with estate planning, trust and estate administration, probate, tax, and related transactional matters. The ideal candidate has extensive law firm experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to independently manage complex matters while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Responsibilities Assist with post-death trust administration, including notices, asset distributions, transfers, and required filings. Manage trust funding and asset transfers involving real estate, business interests, and financial accounts. Prepare deeds, subtrust documents, and other trust administration materials. Review trust and probate accountings for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and review federal estate and gift tax returns, including Forms 706 and 709. Prepare, file, and manage Heggstad Petitions and other trust and probate court filings. Handle probate matters from initiation through completion, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedures. Prepare California Form BOE-100-B and related legal entity filings. Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and ancillary documents. Conduct legal research and maintain organized client and matter files. Independently manage multiple assignments while ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Requirements 5+ years of Tax, Trusts & Estates Paralegal experience within a law firm. Four-year college degree or equivalent and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate. Strong experience with estate planning, trust administration, probate, and estate and gift tax matters. Experience preparing or reviewing federal Forms 706 and 709. Knowledge of California probate and trust procedures, including Heggstad Petitions. Strong drafting, legal research, organizational, and document-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Strong communication, problem-solving, and client service skills.
