Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into an impactful role supporting students’ academic and personal growth as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. This opportunity offers multiple positions across early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school levels at a welcoming educational environment near Effingham, SC. The anticipated contract period begins July 22nd, 2026 (date to be confirmed) and extends through June 1st, 2027, with an engaging full-time, on-site schedule of approximately 37.5 hours per week.
Desired Background and Skills:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school settings a plus
- Deep understanding of IEP process and compliance
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and adapting curricula for diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams
- Positive, solution-focused approach to working with students and families
- Ability to maintain detailed records and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying exceptionalities
- Deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ unique strengths and learning styles
- Foster a supportive classroom environment, promoting both academic skill-building and social-emotional development
- Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators to ensure consistent support for learners
- Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and staff
- Participate in professional development and school community events as needed
