Restaurant Manager – Fine Dining / Upscale Hotel Restaurant
We're seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations for our upscale hotel restaurant in New York City. The ideal candidate has a strong background in fine dining service and a passion for delivering memorable, elevated guest experiences within a luxury hospitality setting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations for the hotel's restaurant, ensuring seamless, high-touch service
- Train and mentor service staff on upscale service standards and etiquette
- Manage guest relations, resolving concerns with poise and professionalism — including coordination with hotel guest services when needed
- Collaborate with culinary, bar, and banquet/events teams to maintain a cohesive guest experience
- Partner with hotel leadership (GM, F&B Director) on operational goals and brand standards
- Handle scheduling, labor cost management, and staff performance
- Uphold cleanliness, ambiance, and brand standards throughout service
- Assist with wine/beverage program knowledge and service pairing recommendations
- Support in-room dining or private event service coordination as needed
- Monitor guest feedback (including hotel review platforms) and implement service improvements
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of management experience in fine dining or upscale restaurants
- Deep understanding of upscale service techniques (tableside service, wine service, formal place settings, etc.)
- Strong leadership and staff development skills
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- POS system proficiency; scheduling and inventory software experience a plus
- Food safety/alcohol service certifications preferred (ServSafe, TIPS, etc.)
