POSITION OVERVIEW

The Client Services Representative serves as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and the medical billing team. This position responds to patient billing inquiries, researches account activity, and assists with resolving billing questions and account issues in a professional and timely manner.

The ideal candidate has experience with patient billing and medical insurance, understands how to read and interpret an Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and can navigate patient accounts to research billing activity and verify that appropriate notification and follow-up procedures have been completed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answer patient calls and billing inquiries in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
• Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to assist with patient account questions and billing resolution.
• Research patient accounts, billing history, insurance activity, and account balances to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Document all patient interactions, research, actions taken, and resolutions accurately in the patient account.
• Ensure required patient billing notifications and follow-up procedures have been completed.
• Escalate recurring patient, client, or billing issues to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements and company privacy policies .
• Work collaboratively with provider offices, billing staff, A/R staff, and other departments to resolve patient account issues.
• Manage multiple inquiries and priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and service standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of medical billing and/or medical customer service experience preferred.
• Experience working with patients or customers by telephone in a professional environment.
• Experience reading and interpreting EOBs.
• Basic understanding of medical insurance and patient billing processes.
• Experience documenting account activity in a medical billing or practice management system preferred.
• Strong computer and data-entry skills.
• Ability to handle fast paced environment & high call volume
• Ability to work out of multiple systems
