Certified Surgical TechLocation: Prosper, TX 75078 Duration: 13 - week contract Schedule Notes: Day shift - 8 Hours/DayDutiesJob Summary: To provide skilled technical care to the pediatric patient in the operating room according to their identified needs. This care includes but is not limited to: performing in the role of Scrub Nurse or First Assistant to the Surgeon and is delivered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. These functions are guided by the documented nursing care plan. The responsibilities are primarily directed to technical skills including the use of surgical instruments and equipment. There is close collaboration with other members of the surgical team.Job Responsibilities:10% Documentation: Legibly document unusual occurrences and provide appropriate follow up in a timely manner. Provide input for PACE evaluations on other staff members job performances. Other documentation may include laser safety documents, orientation documentation when precepting, and sterilization logs.15% Assessment/Planning: Includes but not limited to checking case carts, gathering supplies and equipment for cases. Assisting the RN with preparing for each case.20% Customer Service Excellence: Customers defined as patients, families, visitors, co-workers, our community and business partners. Fosters positive working relationships, across departments, and campuses to represent Cook Childrens as a unified, supportive system. After procedures, review and adjust preference card as needed. Share any pertinent information with staff members. Successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program.Required Certifications & LicensureCurrent BLS certification recognized by AHA. PALS One of the following: Certified Surg Tech - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Tech in Surgery-Certificed - National Center for Competency Testing.
