Lead Java / J2EE Developer (JSP / Eclipse / Spring / MQ)

Lead Java / J2EE Developer – Albany, NY Trigyn’s direct government client has an immediate need for a Lead Java / J2EE Developer. The selected candidate will lead the Tax Modernization effort and support maintenance activities. Responsibilities Obtain business requirements to develop automated applications that meet business priorities. Provide lead programming duties for tax‑related applications. Develop and mentor staff using J2EE, Spring, JSON, JavaScript, and JDBC. Develop and review detailed documentation for system and program change requirements, including detailed specification documents. Assist and provide guidance through all phases of the project management life cycle. Develop unit test plans based on coding changes and user specifications; conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in the development environment. Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs, procedures, etc.) from development to user test environment. Assist team members using distributed technologies including Java, DB2, XML, and XQuery; ensure proper training and mentoring. Provide support for defects and issue resolution, addressing defects and issues promptly based on priority. Facilitate and participate in meetings with ITS and customers. Communicate verbally and in writing with management, users, ITS management, and team members. Qualifications Involved with all facets of the software development process, including research, design, programming, testing, and implementation of computer software. Ability to work independently without assistance. 36 months experience with J2EE technologies, including JDBC, JSP, and XML. 36 months experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDEs such as Eclipse, NetBeans, or IntelliJ. 36 months experience writing SQL statements for relational databases. 24 months experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or Struts. 12 months experience in messaging technologies such as MQ, JMS, or Kafka. 12 months experience developing with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 12 months experience with commercial‑off‑the‑shelf (COTS) or open‑source Business Rules Management System.
